A huge thanks to Peel Port 500 for donating £500, which allowed us to purchase a Kitchen Aid Mixer, crockery and cutlery for Greenbank College’s catering department.
Catering student Michael Langley aged 16, pictured with the Kitchen Aid mixer said “The mixer makes working in the kitchen a lot easier. I make bread, pizza dough and cakes with it and it is really helping me on my course (Level 1 Food Preparation and Cooking). I am also doing a work placement at Cleo’s Café to help me get experience, to get a job in the future”.
Tutor Rob Swinden added “The Kitchen Aid Mixer is invaluable; students at all levels (about 50 per week) are able to use the mixer to make bread, pizza dough, pastry and cakes. This is great for them and helps students to achieve qualifications. It is great for the department too in terms of the quality of products that we are making. Without the support of Peel Port 500 we wouldn’t have been able to afford this equipment.”
