“I had a stroke about four years ago and everything about my life changed. It’s been really difficult to adapt – a lot of the things that I used to do were no longer an option.
Getting out of the house and socialising is really important but this has to be somewhere that I feel safe. At Greenbank I feel ‘normal’. It’s helpful for me to mix with other wheelchair users and I’m inspired by the disabled sports coaches and what they have achieved – it makes me want to do more!
I love coming to Greenbank – I’ve had the opportunity to do some great activities including painting and cooking – eventually I want to do a course leading to a qualification – coming here really brightens my week.”
