Widower James White always remembered his wife Marjorie (nee McNamee) speaking fondly about childhood days in the 1950’s spent at The Children’s Rest School of Recovery, on Greenbank Lane, Liverpool 17.
About 15 years ago, they re-visited the building, now occupied by Greenbank College, to have a look around. This visit has stayed in James’ mind, particularly since his wife’s death a number of years ago.
Recently, James’ daughter Linda decided to make items such as cards to sell to family and friends to raise money to support a local charity. This has meant that Lynda and James were able to make a donation to support Greenbank.
Marketing Manager Elizabeth Brocklehurst commented “It is lovely to find out about former pupils of Children’s Rest School of Recovery, particularly to hear that Marjorie was so happy here. It is very kind of James and Linda to want to support the charity that is now in the building attended by Marjorie. This kind of support is needed help us to continue with our work to help disabled and the local community”
