A huge thank you to Brian Webster and the 84 donors who helped him to raise a massive £3103.50 for Greenbank, after he completed the epic Deloitte Ride Across Britain in atrocious weather conditions.
Brian, a Senior Manager at Deloitte said:
“I completed the Deloitte Ride across Britain on 17th September and I am truly humbled at the generosity of my sponsors.
Overall, cycling 108 miles a day was not too bad – yes, there were low points along the way, but getting a notification of further sponsorship at an opportune time and to know I was doing this for Greenbank spurred me on to keep going every day.
The weather was not good – we cycled through wind, rain, hail and occasionally some sun – there were only 2 days when it did not rain!! I was lucky to ride in a group of 5, who met as strangers on day 2 and are now lifelong friends – the power of teamwork kept us all going.
I’d like to thank Deloitte and Greenbank for the opportunity to take part in this event – a personal challenge for me to complete whilst also supporting the very important work that Greenbank does empowering local disabled people through education, employment and sports and leisure opportunities.”
