Volunteer Purpose 

Winter Christmas Family Fun Days

As part of the city wide Holiday Activity Fund (HAF), Greenbank have been successful in securing funding to offer Winter Play in the form of 2 x Christmas Family Fun Days (incorporating lunch and snacks to the participants/families). Greenbank will also be providing Christmas themed activity packs to 60 participants aged 5-16 from the Greenbank ward area who meet the eligibility criteria of the fund. The HAF programme is designed for young people who receive benefits-related free school meals but places are available for other young people, including young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) aged 16-25.

 

Activities and Play days will be delivered out of Greenbank Sports Academy on Thursday 23rd December; 10.00 -14.00  (Volunteers  required 09.00 – 14.30) and Friday 24th December; 10.00 – 14.00 (Volunteers required 09.00 – 4.30).

 

Greenbank require the expression of interest from people who would like to be considered to do the following Volunteer roles:

1 – Christmas Family Fun Day Activity Assistants for 23rd and 24th December (8 volunteers required). Activities include:

Supporting with the setting up of the sports hall and relevant equipment.

Supporting with registration and evaluation of participants.

Assisting with sessions and participants including 1-1 budying if required.

Assisting with Equipment and room preparation/cleaning.

Ensuring the Safety of participants including first Aid and Health and safety.

Supporting other areas as deemed required.

2 – Christmas Activity Packs for Eligible Young People –  Packers And Distributers

We require volunteers to assist in filling the Activity packs for young people and in distributing them. Activities include:

Unpacking items.

Sorting Items.

Packing various items into individual participant packs.

Labelling items.

Taking Photos of finished packs..

Managing a collection day at Greenbank Sports Academy – W/c 20th December 2021.

Volunteers will be provided with a Volunteer subsistence , which includes high visability Jacket for onsite workers. A food pack and travel subsistence, In line with Greenbanks Volunteer Policy, will also be provided.
