The achievements of Greenbank founder and Chief Executive, over a career that lasted more than 30 years, were celebrated at a ‘This is your life’ style event held at Greenbank on 5th March.
Gerry founded the charity in 1983 and has spent a life time dedicated to improving opportunities for disabled people on Merseyside, particularly through education and sport. His legacy continues through the Greenbank’s work and he remains passionate to the cause.
The event, organised by Gerry’s friends and family and hosted by broadcaster and writer Charlie Lambert, took him completely by surprise.
Guests included lifetime friend and former president of the International Paralympic Committee, Sir Philip Craven and one of his Everton heroes from the 1984 FA Cup winning Everton squad, Graeme Sharp.
Contributors described Gerry’s vision, determination and tenacity as the main traits influencing his success.
Greenbank is grateful for his hard work and dedication and wishes him a long and happy Retirement.
