Traineeship Description

Greenbank College have an exciting traineeship opportunity for a Claims Handler in a prestigious and fast-growing solicitors firm based in the heart of Liverpool city centre. This opportunity is open to young people aged between 16-18 and up to the age of 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan who are interested in going into a career in customer service and/or the legal sector.

This traineeship is part of an education and training programme that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. The core component of this programme is a high-quality work experience placement, which is complemented by work preparation training in college concentrating on employability, personal skills development, English and Maths (for those who need it) and a vocational subject area.

Traineeships are a pathway to an apprenticeship or paid employment.

Traineeship Purpose 

To be the first point of contact between the client and the firm, ensuring that claims are set up effectively in order to progress to legal proceedings.

Main Duties and Accountabilities 

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients.
  • Handling inbound and outbound calls.
  • Assisting with client queries and providing a resolution to each call received, escalating when necessary.
  • Setting up claims.
  • Completing questionnaires with clients.
  • Checking client identification and proof of address in line with Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Customer regulations.
  • Sending CFA’s (conditional fee agreements).
  • Liaising with third parties such as UK Legal Assist for claim set-up assistance.
  • Be multi-skilled and able to set up claims in all areas of law practiced by the firm.
  • Meet targets in terms of call time, pause time and conversions.
  • Work towards goals and objectives set in 1-2-1 meetings.
  • Ensure all client data is handled within the scope of Data Protection Legislation.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
